2006 President's Message

2011   2010   2009   2008   2006   2005   2002

Friends:

The beginning of year 2006 finds the marketplace continuing to assert itself in dramatic ways. At Trendl Associates, Ltd., our hope as we welcome in the New Year, is that it be a peaceful and prosperous time for all.

  • Our outlook remains positive and we strive to keep the winds of change at our backs.
  • Our goal is to continue to foster growth through change: societal, corporate and personal.
  • Our plan is to embrace change and promote forward thinking through the cycle of recruitment, training and retention.

These three elements all help to create a covenant or bond within the organization:

Recruitment is the covenant between Trendl Associates and our client firms.
The role that Trendl Associates has in its covenant is to partner with our client firms large and small, to find the most qualified individuals to fill gaps in the organization and help propel it forward.

Training is the covenant between employee and firm.
The role that the new employee has in his/her covenant with the firm, is to maintain the position of most qualified by continued training; whether that training be corporately sponsored or not. Advanced degrees, classes, seminars, association involvement or networking groups all help to ensure the knowledge base and skill set growth so important in enhancing the value of the employee to the firm.

Retention is the covenant between firm and employee and ultimately the stakeholders. The covenant that the firm forms with its employees who have demonstrated a willingness to uphold their ongoing training, is exemplified by a retention policy that promotes and enhances employee growth and advancement within the organization and therefore furthering the goals and growth of the organization for its stakeholders.

All three participants (search firm, employee and employer) must come to not only realize the ever-changing environment, but embrace it, so as to ensure growth. We are merely sounding our death knell by ignoring or hiding from the dramatic shifts facing all of us today.

Survivors of these dramatic, seismic shifts will be the knowledgeable and the nimble. Those who embrace the changes as opportunities will have the wind at their backs while those who choose to fight or avoid the changes will find themselves in the upcoming year facing a very strong headwind.

With dedicated planning, a willingness to adapt and a little luck, we can indeed make 2006 a peaceful and prosperous year.

Respectfully,

Joseph R. Trendl's Signature
Joseph R. Trendl President
