Barbara Kauffman joined Trendl Associates, Ltd. in September of 2002 as Managing Principal of the privately held Chicago based executive search firm. Her areas of expertise include Retail, Manufacturing and Non-Profit.

Barbara was formerly Vice President of the Chicago office of a national retained executive search firm. She successfully placed Senior Executives in Operations, Finance, Human Resources, Marketing, Sales, Information Systems, Supply Chain, Real Estate, Merchandising, Design, Sourcing and Production, and Product Development.

She had a 27 year career in the Retail and Manufacturing industries. She held positions in corporate merchandising and store line operations with John Wanamaker, Macy’s, and Talbots. In the mid 80’s she was Vice President of Marketing for J.G. Hook, a manufacturer of better ladies apparel based in New York City. In 1989 Barbara was the President and Chief Executive Officer of Honeybee, a direct mail and retail store subsidiary of Spiegel, Inc. She also directed the women’s merchandising strategy for 170 retail outlet stores for the Van Heusen Corporation.

Barbara has partnered with clients requiring multiple senior level positions that were
venture backed firms, Fortune 500 companies, as well as small to mid-sized privately held organizations. She has completed International assignments for firms based in both Europe and Asia. Additionally she has Non-Profit sector experience having placed Senior Executives for National Museums, Zoos and Associations.

Barbara is a native of Pennsylvania and has been a resident of Chicago since 1999. She believes that a relationship with her clients based on integrity and trust, coupled with an unwavering commitment to exceptional candidate and client service are the foundations for success for her valued clients.
